Mistress Drea di’Pellegrini- I have studied historic costume for over a decade, with a focus on sixteenth century textiles and dress.
- I have presented papers at the International Congress of Medieval Studies and the Medieval Congress at Leeds, and have lectured for several re-enactment groups and Renaissance Faires on the topic of sixteenth century costume. I am also a teacher at the online Costume Classroom.
- Publications include the book The Well-Dress'd Peasant: 16th Century Workingwoman's Dress; a Compleat Anachronist, Elizabethan Underpinnings, which is now in a second, updated edition; two articles in Renaissance magazine; and an article on Renaissance textile cleaning techniques in Medieval Clothing and Textiles 2.
- My current areas of research include transcription of sixteenth century tailors’ bills and wardrobe accounts, research into the Renaissance tailoring industry, further research into dress of the lower orders, and Renaissance dyeing and cleaning techniques.
- I currently live in Springfield, OH with my husband and cat, where I work as a software engineer to support my research and costume book-collecting habits.
